You keep trying and trying, but don't hear a thing. You've tried meditation and music, getting out into nature and even crystals, but get no response from the animals you try to speak with. Should you just give up? Are you simply not cut out for animal communication? Or maybe you are trying too hard, or expecting it to look and feel a particular way and so aren't recognizing your successes? There's a good chance it's that last one. And this easy tutorial is designed to help you have that first conversation — and recognize that you did. Ready? Fake it till you make it.It's a popular saying because so often, it actually works. In this case, our goal is to fake — or trick — your mind into relaxing, releasing expectations, and then realizing that what began as your imagination is quite likely actually a telepathic connection with an animal. Below are a few easy steps divided into three progressive mini exercises. You can do just one or try them all. I think the most important part here is to treat this like a game and have fun. 1. Choose an animal's photo. Doesn't matter which one, but preferably of an animal you don't know. You could try one from the Q&A gallery. 2. Look at the photo. Based on the animal's expression, features, what it is doing in the photo, etc., what do you think the animal is like? What is its personality? What do you think it might like to do or eat? If it were to say something, what might that be? And how would it sound? Would it have an accent? Would it talk excitedly or slowly or confidently? Write down anything and everything you might think this animal is all about, simply based on the photo. Record your responses and impressions without hesitation or too much thought. Whatever first comes to mind. You aren't waiting for answers from the animal here, you are providing those answers yourself. 3. Now ask the animal some questions and write down what you think the animal might answer. How are you today? What have you done today? What do you like to do? What's your favorite food? Things like that. Again, you are making all of this up based on what you imagine the animal to be like from its photo. You aren't trying to hear the animal's real responses. 4. Review what you wrote. You should have a pretty good idea about who you imagine this animal is! This is how animal communication works! Did you make the answers up? Yes, this time you did based on what you imagine the animal is like. But you pulled those answers out of your imagination, the same energetic space that connects everything in the universe. If you were really trying to connect with the animal, you might get impressions and hear answers in a very similar way. It's this reason many (or most, if not all) animal communicators at some point wonder if what they are hearing is made up; a construct of their imaginations. If you're up for it, let's take this exercise a little further. If you used a photo from the Q&A gallery, read through the answers provided there. You should be able to get a feel for the animal's personality and likes and dislikes from their human's perspective. Compare your notes with the ones provided. Any similarities? If not, it's okay. You still did the exercise perfectly and achieved exactly what you were supposed to. If you did find some similarities, that's just a bonus and perhaps an indication that you actually did tap into the animal's real energy. And perhaps that happened because you let go of the fear and pressure of a real reading in favor of one you completely made up. There's one more part to this. Are you game?Try this exercise again, but this time, without a photo. Choose a different name from the Q&A gallery. Try not to look at the photo too closely. Go through steps 2 and 3 above and, imagining what the animal is like just from his or her name and species, and write down your perceptions. Like in the previous exercise, you are tapping into your imagination, not trying to connect directly with the animal. When you're done, compare your notes with the ones provided. How do they compare this time? You may find that some or a lot of what you wrote was pretty similar to the answers provided. Or you may find them different. Either way, you had an actual conversation with an animal on some level. And even if your answers were different than those provided, it doesn't mean you got them wrong! There are many sides to the truth. The animal's person is familiar with one of those sides. Perhaps you tapped into another. Did this break you free? If not, don't give up!Many of us struggle with animal communication because we have expectations of how it will work or should work based on other people's experiences and guidance. So if we do it one of those ways and it doesn't work, we think we have failed or are broken. There are many, many ways to do things. If one doesn't work, try another. Better yet, try the method you just used above, which is designed to get things moving in your imagination and psyche, and push your fears of getting it wrong out of the way long enough for you to really connect. See if it might create a unique connection between the animal and you.

Thank you Josh. That was very useful. After feeling stuck and doing a reading that didn't sound at all accurate, this is just what I need to keep going! Cheers,Scotty
